NAFRA

The National Association of Fugitive Recovery Agents (NAFRA) is the trade organization for the bail bond fugitive recovery industry in the United States.

NAFRA

Our roots date back to 1986 when the National Association of Bail Enforcement Agents (NABEA) was founded by a group of industry veterans that saw the need at the national level for increased professional standards and representation with lawmakers, regulators and the media.

In 2014 the National Association of Fugitive Recovery Agents and the National Association of Bail Enforcement Agents merged into one organization (the NAFRA). The association plays a vital role in protecting the future of the industry by promoting professional standards and managing public relations.

While bail bond fugitive recovery is a for profit business, the professionals in this industry provide a valuable public service apprehending an estimated 30,000 fugitives each year which greatly contributes to the efficient operation of the criminal justice system and public safety. The majority of our members come from a military, law enforcement, security or investigations background.
